The new Work and Skills Immersion Programme (WSIP) offers fresh graduates and mid-career job seekers a variety of contract work-and-train opportunities, typically on a two-year basis, in key capability areas in the public sector. The positions offered by NTU under this programme aims to support the development of science and technology talents as they are key to the nation’s ability to meet future challenges and respond to shifts in the global economy.

About the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering - Rapid-Rich Object Search (ROSE) Lab

The Rapid-Rich Object SEarch (ROSE) Lab focuses on research in: (i) visual object search, (ii) video analytics & deep learning, and (iii) multimedia forensics & biometrics. Resources at the ROSE Lab consist of NTU faculty, researchers, PhD students, and visiting researchers from other institutions from around the world, as well as large-scale GPU computing facilities.

Job Description

The Research Assistant will conduct R&D in computer vision and video analytics, including anomaly detection and unattended object detection.


The applicant should have a good Bachelor degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering, or a related field, and have some proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ & Python.

The Research Assistant will be attached (for a period of at least 6 months to 12 months) to our industry sponsor, a company developing innovative solutions to enhance public security and safety. This attachment is intended to familiarize him/her with the projects at the company, and to better understand the context of the problems to be researched and solved.
