The trainees at SP PowerGrid will be assigned to an experienced staff who will provide guidance to make the traineeship period a fulfilling one. Trainees will have opportunities to liaise with stakeholders and perform hands-on work to deepen their technical and soft skills which will help to boost their employability after their traineeship program.
This position is responsible for carrying out Condition Monitoring (CM) works on distribution power assets to carry out condition monitoring scans to ensure that the electrical equipment are in good working condition.
The trainee will be involved in:
Condition Monitoring
This area of technology and engineering is to be able to detect equipment failure before it actually happens. This ensures the reliability of the network. It is similarly to having health screening to detect health conditions early. It is fulfilling as you will be part of the force that ensures reliability of the very important electrical and gas infrastructure. It will be exciting as you will be using high-end technology and data analytics.
Responsibilities include:
1. Planning and implement Condition Monitoring workplan
2. Carry out condition monitoring for High Tension equipment and cables
3. Prepare and collate information for monthly reports
4. To check, verify and analyse condition monitoring data and inspection reports and identify abnormalities
5. Ensure records are filed properly and data are updated promptly in the relevant system
The trainee will be trained in:
1. Conduct manual scanning on electrical equipment
2. Data management and analysis
3. Transmission network PDM sensitivity check
4. Distribution network online installation project
Education Level:
Polytechnic Diploma (Electrical & Electronics Engineering)
