[MAS] Deputy Director / Assistant Director, Capital Markets Intermediaries (CMI III)

You will be part of a team responsible for the supervision of capital market intermediaries – including broker-dealers, corporate finance advisers and trust companies – to promote stronger and more resilient intermediaries.
You will have responsibility for admitting new intermediaries into our capital markets industry, performing risk assessments of licensed intermediaries under your supervision and contributing to policy reviews related to the supervision of intermediaries. You will also conduct off-site supervision and on-site inspections of these entities to assess the effectiveness of their risk management systems and internal controls and the adequacy of their market conduct practices. You are also expected to apply data analytics, and participate in business process reviews and other transformation work to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
In the course of your work, you will have opportunities to interact with other departments in MAS as well as external parties such as industry bodies, foreign regulators, other government agencies and supranational bodies.
Possess good working knowledge and experience in capital market intermediaries and/or financial products, particularly in broking or in corporate finance.
Possess at least 5 years or 10 years (for Deputy Director) of experience in the financial sector, including in an audit, compliance, legal or data role.
Possess good written and verbal communication skills and be self-motivated and driven.
Able to work at both the conceptual and operational levels in a team environment, with strong analytical skills and ability to pay attention to details.
Experience and/or knowledge in data analytics or process improvement is a plus.
