Job Description

This is a 2-Years role (renewable / convertible).

You will be part of the team responsible for the reporting, accounts receivables, accounts payable, period closing, GST reporting and fixed asset functions of Singapore Discovery Centre’s (SDC’s) Finance including financial statement preparation and analysis, checking of costing sheets, verification of journal entries and payment vouchers, fixed assets and inventory verification. This ensures that SDC departments receive management reports timely and meet the reporting requirements by the authorities. This position will report directly to Director, Finance.


Responsibilities:

  • Actively lead and co-ordinate all the month-end closing activities and ensure timely closing and preparation of month-end reports;
  • Review and post staff expense claims, customers and suppliers invoices;
  • Verification and process approved refunds;
  • Review month-end schedules and reconciliations and follow-up reconciliation of items on a timely basis;
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement processes and follow up on outstanding PO’s. Work closely with team to streamline and improve payment process;
  • Responsible for fixed assets management, supervising the fixed assets record keeping and organising half-yearly fixed assets count;
  • Support new business initiatives and initiates reviews and recommends process improvements particularly in areas with financial impact;
  • Oversee the statutory audit for the Company, which includes the preparation of draft statutory financial statements;
  • Support internal audit engagements and work closely with Audit team on deliverables;
  • Assist with annual budget exercise which includes reviewing department submissions and consolidating department submissions;
  • Oversee the performance of outsourced vendor;
  • Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns and reimbursement of project grants;
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time, including operational support duties.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should possess an Accountancy degree or ACCA qualified. Candidates pursuing professional qualifications or Accountancy degree with robust experience in accounting operations may also apply;
  • At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is preferred;
  • Knowledge of ERP system / solutions and advanced Excel spreadsheet skills;
  • Team player with hands-on, can-do attitude. Self-motivated, meticulous, keen attention to details and commitment towards deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Able communicate with internal departments and stakeholders;
  • IT Savvy;
  • Able to start work as soon as possible
