About Olea:

Olea is a digitized platform aiming to bring together businesses requiring supply chain financing with investors who invest in trade finance assets as an alternative asset class. It will be a joint venture between Standard Chartered and a leading technology company in China. It combines Standard Chartered’s expertise in trade and investors with the technology platform of the partner. Headquartered in Singapore, Olea’s ambition is to become the leading platform in originating and distributing supply chain finance assets globally.

Responsibilities:

Identify and manage credit, performance and fraud risk in the supply chain portfolio, with respect to both client and own exposure, communicating these risks effectively and transparently.

Formulate, implement and review prudent credit policies with regard to own exposure.

Ensure adequate policy and portfolio management in accordance with venture policy.

Continuously analyze portfolio performance and recommend strategies with both revenue and risk in consideration, serving as a collaborative sounding board and trusted partner to the business.

Implement risk management strategy within the venture’s risk management framework and establish effective processes to monitor these risks and identify emerging risks proactively so as to adjust management actions and maintain losses within acceptable thresholds.

Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across the venture, including understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and policies

The Role Responsibilities

Our Ideal Candidate

At least 8 years’ experience in end-to-end wholesale and SME credit risk in Asia.

Expertise in supply chain financing products and related risks.

Experience in enterprise risk management frameworks and its constituents.

Experience in developing underwriting standards and intersecting these effectively and efficiently with product programmes.

Exposure to fraud risk management would be ideal.

Flexible enough to adapt to the needs of an expanding start-up.

Soft skills - strategic thinking, negotiation skills, creativity and trouble solving, constant self-education/learning and ability to collaborate in virtual teams.

Degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
