Job Description

You will be part of Risk Management Team and assist the Head of Risk Management to carry out the following responsibilities:


  • Assess and identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability to mitigate risks
  • Continuously improve the company’s policies and governance processes, as well as to ensure that the organization complies with its regulatory responsibilities and that processes and implementations are adhered to by all staff across different departments
  • Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved
  • Account opening for newly onboarded clients, which includes performing risk assessment and name screening
  • Execute the annual compliance plan and compliance monitoring programmes, including transaction monitoring and account review for existing clients’ accounts
  • Provide support to the Team Head in organising and delivering compliance training
  • Assist to conduct regular internal audit review for all departments to ensure that no discrepancies exist in day-to-day operational activities
  • Act as an internal legal advisory for the company’s stakeholders
  • Act as a reference point of suspicious transaction reporting (STR)
  • Liaising with Operations traders for daily transaction monitoring
  • Keep abreast of regulatory updates and market news that may impact the industry and business, and make necessary updates for all the company’s stakeholders
  • Conduct research and data gathering for compliance matters
  • Undertake ad hoc assignments or projects as required

Requirements:

  • Min. Diploma level in Accounting/Banking/Finance/Business Management/Economics
  • Candidate should have at least 1 year working experience in a regulated financial institution in Singapore
  • Candidates with experience in compliance, KYC/CDD or client onboarding will have an advantage
  • Familiar with MAS Regulations and reporting guidelines, as well as AML/CFT global standards, such as FATF
  • Knowledge of foreign financial regulations, especially within Asian countries, would be an advantage
  • ICA Certifications or other compliance-related certificates would be a plus, but not essential
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Highly meticulous and a fast learner
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills to communicate with various stakeholders
