Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the SVP of Corporate Services, you are required to effectively lead and build a lean team in the following areas:


  • To be a partner to business units, providing support to them on financial matters so as to meet the units’ and company’s business objectives;
  • Full spectrum of operational finance activities including compliance and statutory accounting, tax accounting, accounts payables, accounts receivables, assets accounting, treasury accounting, other financial resources accounting and statutory returns, projects accounting;
  • Full spectrum of management accounting activities including financial evaluations, budgeting, budgetary control, treasury management, forecasting, flash reports, multi-year cash flows, quantitative and qualitative management reporting and management of investments and foreign exchange;
  • Financial advisory services for business development and tender bid activities including preparation of project budgets, price proposals, pricing conditions, payment milestones, and financial packages for tender bids, offers and acceptances; participation in evaluation of project financial risks and opportunities, sourcing of grants and incentives, crafting of revenue/supplier agreements and participation in contract negotiations;
  • Defining, updating and reviewing financial policies and procedures; corporate governance policies and procedures; exploring implementing and maintaining appropriate finance-related systems and initiatives; maintaining and management of financial statistics, surveys, research information, statutory returns and benchmarking;
  • Liaise with auditors (both internal and external) and tax consultants/tax authorities on audit and taxation matters, ensure compliance with audit requirements and company’s SOP;
  • Keep abreast of key changes in accounting and taxation regulations and provide support in rolling out group initiatives;
  • Support the business and management in any business analysis, projects and initiatives as assigned;
  • Perform secretariat duties for Board Committees and management meetings, preparing board papers, memo and/or reports, and ensuring follow through of action items arising from such meetings;
  • Any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the reporting officer


Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy with CPA/CA
  • Professional Accountancy qualification required
  • Minimum of 8-10 years generalist experience in the areas required of the position, preferably in the engineering services, construction contracts, and/or related industries
  • General knowledge of international accounting, taxation, transfer pricing, cross-border transactions, construction contracts accounting, financial modelling, and Microsoft desktop tools
  • Possess excellent analytical, numerate, strong writing and presentation skills
  • Strong supervisory skills and hands-on experience
  • Possess excellent Microsoft Excel modelling skills and proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to establish good working relationships with key decision makers, and able to work with colleagues at all levels
  • Mature personality and able to work well in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Good business acumen, problem solving and decision making skills and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Sun System will be an advantage
  • Able to operate independently, as well as a good team player with excellent communication skills
