The Role Responsibilities


The role holder is responsible for embedding new ways of working throughout the Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing function.

Create high performance culture where agile is leveraged as a strategic business asset

Lead teams in an organisational transition, leveraging deep analytical understanding of a variety of New Ways of Working (including Scrum, Kanban, Human Centred Design or Design Thinking, Lean, Dynamic Work Design, A3 problem solving, Agile Friendly Operating Models)

The Head, CABM Change Management will deliver the 2021 Future State roadmap, ensuring underlying workstreams are aligned.

Provide continued challenge and focus to link project outputs and outcomes to the strategic needs of the business


The Head will build change momentum and embed organisational agility.

Coach, mentor, advise and design solutions through thought leadership across key organisational agility enablers

The role holder will manage all aspects of the CABM Future State programme and affiliated projects, through its lifecycle, to agreed budget and quality:

Manage the end to end project plans, coordinating activities across all resources to deliver the project including change management activities

Ensure compliance with Project Governance and Project Management Standards

Oversee scope, approach, solution design, timelines, costs, benefits and all other key aspects of the project are documented, with timely and quality submissions to committees as required

Ensure the Accountable Executives and Steering Committee are made aware of material risks, issues, cost, benefit, and scope changes

Help implement a culture of continuous improvement across the function

Present complex approaches, processes and change management principles in a simple and effective way, differentiating by intended audience

People and Talent

Model agile mindset, values and principles

Provide leadership, management and coaching to stakeholders to ensure they are engaged and motivated

Promote and embed a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm

Ensure each project role / team member has clear responsibilities, reporting lines, delegated authorities and objectives and provide continuous feedback to their People Leader

Build change momentum and act as an ambassador for change programmes to stakeholders within CABM and beyond

Resolve issues, conflicts, or ambiguity through effective moderation of affected stakeholders and a solution oriented approach

Risk Management

Ensure that issues, risks and interdependencies are identified, managed and resolved and ensure a robust escalation process is in place where Accountable Executive and Project Steering Committtee are required to own mitigating actions

Ensure key person risks (BAU and project) are mitigated


Prepare materials for governance meetings as required including updates to the Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing Management Team, Project Steering Committee (PSC)

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.

Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Lead the CABM function to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Transparent Business Model; Effective Governance; Ethical Leadership; People Competency & Integrity]

Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders

Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing Management team

CABM teams such as COO team, Change Communications team

Specialist advisors in other functions i.e. HR, T&I and CFCC

Other Responsibilities

Coordinate internal communications about change programmes by providing regular and timely updates to the function via the internal portal

Our Ideal Candidate

Graduate/ MBA with 10+ years experience into change management

Track record of delivering transformation at scale – addressing ways of working of teams across countries and within a large complex organisation.

Self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude and commitment to do what it takes to deliver

Strong stakeholder engagement

Highly organised and independent

Able to influence stakeholders and guide others in delivering change
