Job Description

The following are the "must-haves" of this role:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in leading / managing team(s) for OMS application
  • At least 10 years development experience in Core Java and Java EE
  • Excellent personal organisation and ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks. Able to influence and      drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges
  • Domain knowledge in Wealth Management products and offerings

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The candidate will be the technical lead for order entry and payment platforms under Core Banking and Transactions Applications Management team.


KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION

Functional / Technical

  • Development and delivery experience in order entry trading and payment platforms and associated technologies (Java, EJB, Spring Boot, MySQL and IBM MQ etc.)
  • Hands on experience in analysis, design, coding, and implementation of complex and custom-built solutions
  • Lead and manage a highly competent team and vendor for both project delivery and on-going support
  • Responsible and accountable for the overall delivery of projects in the Transactions application      management space
  • Responsible for managing IT and OPEX related to new and on-going initiatives
  • Build effective relationship and partnership with the business stakeholders in support to their technology needs
  • Understand synergies across multiple initiatives, provide estimates, propose timelines and obtain project approval
  • Partner with Architects to ensure that solutions are aligned with the IT roadmap
  • Understand system and functional requirements and translate them into technical implementations
  • Ensure delivery is in adherence to standards (including code, security and performance)
  • Pro-actively monitor and manage Technology debt register
  • Regular status updates and early escalation in case of performance/deadline discrepancy or technical conflict
  • Experience working in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, and/or Extreme programming.
  • Experience in following best practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and continuous Integration (CI)

Client / Stakeholder Management (internal & external)

  • Stake holder management – working closely with finance, business change engineers, and project managers to drive and manage IT delivery.
  • Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle

Supervisory Responsibilities (where applicable)

  • Drive and review technical and architectural design, enforce architectural guidelines and challenge status quo.

Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management

  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely and drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards

Professional and Technical

Professional

  • Minimum 10 years of development experience in Core Java and Java EE.
  • Minimum 5 years in OMS domain.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience following TDD.
  • Hand-on development of enterprise web applications leveraging java J2EE, JavaScript, RESTful Web services,      JMS, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JDBC, JBoss Application Server and experience with RDBMS.
  • Experience in any one or more products: Documentum, Captiva, GMC, liferay Portal, Crealogix (CLX) would      be big advantage.
  • Excellent personal organisation and ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks Able to influence and      drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges
  • Able to translate functional requirements to efficient and fit-for-purpose technical solutions

Technical

Must Have:

  • Core Java (preferably 8) and JUnit.
  • TDD. Able to write acceptance test.
  • Maven
  • Basic Linux shell scripting commands
  • Java Messaging Concepts. (JMS, MQ)
  • Java concurrency Management, EJB 3.0
  • Strongcomputer science knowledge (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented      design)
  • Relational Database concepts, SQL, joins, index, triggers etc.
  • Web Services Rest, SOAP.
  • Spring core concepts.

Desirable:

  • JBOSS (or any other application server knowledge).
  • JSF, Primefaces, REDIS (In-memory solution)
  • Experience in SQL queries optimisation
  • Spring Boot
  • JPA & Hibernate.
  • Able to write complex sql queries.
