Job Description

Role Purpose

With Singapore as the transshipment hub, the role of the Transhipment Coordinator is to ensure that transshipment cargo are duly connected across vessels.

Role Accountabilities

Southbound Connection

· Manage the SB transshipment in consultation with the Trades and ensure that the nominated cargos are duly connected.

· Monitor feeder arrivals against mother vessels for physical connectivity and in accordance with Trade guidelines and instruction.

· Secure cargo releases from feeder operators and execute transshipment plan.

· Take necessary corrective actions to monitor ‘tight connection’ or ‘roll-over” situations

· Cargo reconciliation of transshipment plan to ensure completeness and accuracy of planned connections.

· Provide timely transshipment results upon mother vessel’s departure.

· Checking and verification of invoices from feeder operators or other related vendors.

· Escalate issues to Transhipment manager and/or Trades for resolution.

· Attend/resolve day to day enquiries or issues from Trades, agents or vendors.

Northbound Connection

· Manage the NB transshipment plan in consultation with the Import Dept.

· Monitor the planned connections to ensure safe windows for transshipment

· Secure cargo space with feeder operators to execute NB transshipment plan.

· Awareness of prevailing market rates on our key feeder lanes and plan usage in accordance with usage guidelines and in consultation with Transshipment Manager and/or the Global Feeder Procurement Team.

· Prepare feeder B/L draft to feeder operators and arrange feeder freight payment.

· Provide timely transshipment results.

· Escalate issues to Transhipment manager and/or Trades for resolution.

· Attend to day to day enquiries from Trades, agents or vendors.


· Take responsibility for self-safety and safety of those working near-by, by displaying safety leadership principles (i.e. Safety First & Accountability ladder).

· Challenge and stop unsafe acts and behaviours or unsafe conditions.

· Comply with the Global Safety Standards, Polices and Operating Procedures.

Key Qualifications & Skills


·Minimum GCE ‘A’ Level with 2 years relevant liner shipping experience.

·Fresh entry level Diploma holder with an interest in the shipping industry are welcome to apply.

Knowledge & Skills:

· Basic computer skills (Excel, Words, etc.).

· Hard working and eager to acquire knowledge and skills in the maritime industry.

· Attentive to details and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

· Dynamic and systematic in approach and task executions.

· Strong Inter-personal skills and a team player.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.
