Job Description
Communications and connectivity technologies are playing an ever-important role in both social and economic growth globally, with digital services and applications heavily dependent on this foundational layer. The role for this position is to plan and develop Singapore’s communications and connectivity research and innovation strategy, implement and grow our research and translation eco-system, to support the industry and create economic opportunities for our companies.
Key Responsibilities
Keep abreast of global research and innovation developments in the area of comms and connectivity, and how key technologies such as robotics, AR/VR, IoT, AI and others, are evolving to leverage or set requirements on the comms and connectivity needs.
Work with internal stakeholders, lead agencies and the industry to identify challenges and problem statements that requires research and innovation in the communications and connectivity area.
Conceptualise research and innovation programmes and projects required to build capabilities, solutions and products.
Programme management, driving and supporting the research ecosystem to widen and deepen the capability development in comms and connectivity technologies. 
Manage the programme office, to structure and develop the grant calls for research and translation projects, keeping track of milestones and deliverables, and updating the senior management regularly on the programme progress.
Manage, support and facilitate engagements between internal and external stakeholders; which will include both local and overseas parties.
Support the development and conceptualisation of the next bound comms and connectivity initiatives.
 
Requirements
  • Relevant background in Telecommunications Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge in communications and connectivity technologies.
  • Strong interest in research and innovation in communications and connectivity, and other cross cutting technologies that are dependent on comms and connectivity.
  • Experience in programme management. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in relevant field(s). Fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Willingness to learn and understand new technologies.
  • Possess good written, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Possess strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Confident and able to work with multiple stakeholders both local and overseas, and when needed, be able to negotiate and steer parties to achieve a common outcome. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work as a team in a fast-paced and complex work environment.
  • Ability to staff meetings/ discussions with senior management.
  • Familiarity with government grant and procurement processes will have an added advantage. 

Position will commensurate with experience.
