Deputy Director (Trust Tech)
IMDA is spearheading Singapore’s drive to be a world leading Digital Economy. IMDA aims to empower our companies and workforce with digital technologies and enable Singapore to be a leading Digital Economy. 
We are looking for a Deputy Director to lead our Technology team in the Trust Tech Program Office. The successful candidate is a highly motivated and independent team player who has demonstrated experience working on technologies for digital trust – including trustworthy AI, regtech, privacy-preserving technologies, blockchains and more. He/she will have opportunities to collaborate with both the research community and with industry.

  • Drive adoption in industry
  • Lead technical discussions with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and Research Institutes (RIs) 
  • Manage relationships with IHLs, RIs and industry partners
  • Evaluate research proposals from IHLs and RIs. 
  • Represent Singapore and/or IMDA in relevant research and translation forums
  • Lead technical team in design and develop proof of concepts and minimum viable products for digital trust. 
  • Lead and guide technical team in writing and maintenance of technical documentation on proof of concepts and minimum viable products. 
  • Keep updated on standards and frameworks to improve digital trust in emerging technologies, such as 5G, blockchains, AI and data
  • Stay updated on trust breaches in emerging technologies 
  • Evangelise trust technologies to senior stakeholders and industry
  • Write thought leadership articles, including blogs and papers, on trust technologies
  • Lead technology transfer efforts to industry partners. 
Qualifications and Skills 
  • Background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • 15 years of experience of research and/or software development experience in Python, C/C++
  • At least 3 years of experience in two or more of the following areas: cybersecurity, trustworthy AI, blockchains, quantum security and/or privacy preserving technologies
  • Familiar with Agile development and DevSecOps. 
  • Demonstrated experience in translating or commercialisation of emerging technology is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong presentation and engagement skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to work with both local and overseas partners and stakeholders. 

Position will commensurate with experience.
