The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

External Data Platform & Partnerships Lead is a strategic role that will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of opportunities for value creation from data & data partnerships with external partners. This is a business role that will report to the Global Head of Data Management (DCDA) within CCIB business. This person will establish global policies and procedures around data partnership, data acquisition, data sharing, and joint data planning in collaboration with the global and regional business partners.

It will be responsible for leading and governing the data lifecycle and exchange of data between external partners. He/She will partner with Legal and Procurement teams to drive consistency in approach to standards & legal requirements for data partnerships and data exchange. He/She will work with the Data Governance Head to use DG framework for measuring data quality, data usage, data cost and cost of ownership to measure data return on investment and value of related data partnership to drive optimization and data lifecycle.

Business

It will work closely with data and business partners to support use case needs and ensure adherence to compliance regulations in the process of data exchange and implement process/policies to guard data privacy across all data partnership activities. He/She will partner with procurement, legal and compliance to ensure data privacy regulations (e. g. EMEA GDPR, and other country and geography specific privacy laws) are adhered to in all our data partnership and data exchange

Processes

Own the strategy, planning, prioritization, and execution of opportunities for value creation from data & data partnerships with external partners.

Applies deep knowledge and understanding of key commercial & business data sources and analytics insights processes to make key decisions to ensure global data management program success.

Run cross-functional forums to share standard methodology, resolve interdependencies and drive progress.

Maintain a single catalogue for external data across CCIB, with appropriate rich metadata to enable productive self-service usage. Following DG requirements.

Acquisition & support of all relevant data; contribute to build vs. buy decisions and data partnerships.

Partner with Legal and Procurement teams to drive consistency in approach to standards & legal requirements for data partnerships.

Partner with domain and functional leaders in CCIB to find opportunities across data acquisition and usage.

Engage external industry and best-practice forums on data, data partnerships and collaboration initiatives.

Applies deep knowledge and understanding of key commercial & business data sources and analytics insights processes to make key decisions to ensure global data management program success.

Risk Management

Define, measure and report on data quality and availability, and develop a plan within and across domains to improve these metrics.

Identify critical datasets that are used across domains and lead the agreement of standards and ownership that will ensure effective availability and quality of these datasets.

Governance

Responsible for establishing policy and procedures around data exchange and data partnership, supporting bank CDO Data teams and other CCIB teams.

Implement/Enforcement of policies and procedures for the management, governance, and productization of Data assets, including monitoring/audit and critical issue paths. Established by the DG team.

Our Ideal Candidate

5 years of professional experience in data-intensive companies, in roles that were responsible for enterprise data management and governance.

Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.

Leadership across a matrix environment in a complex organization

Real passion for serving customers and understanding/delivering against their needs.

Superior relationship building and communication skills, and experience in working/driving results across teams in different disciplines (product, analytics, sales, compliance, etc.), including communicating recommendations to senior leaders.

Experience working in a global environment, with external partners, is a plus.
