IT Executive (1-year contract)

The Auditor-General's Office (AGO) is an independent organ of state and the national auditor. Our mission is to audit and report to the President and Parliament on the proper accounting and use of public resources so as to enhance public accountability and help strengthen the financial governance of public service. AGO conducts various audits and our observations include system weaknesses, non-compliance with control procedures or legislation, and instances of excess, extravagance, or gross inefficiency leading to waste.

You will be part of the CISB team to provide administrative support to the Chief Information Officer in IT functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation and management of the AGO ICT Systems and Infrastructure and ensure compliance to prevailing IMs, ICT Policies and Standards

• Provide IT support in the areas of asset, service request, procurement, billing and testing & deployment management and coordinate technology refresh and software upgrades for end-user computing devices (EUCD). Track assignment of licenses for various software deployed in AGO.

• Assist with procurement relating to CISB which includes computer information systems and services, computer hardware and software. The sourcing modes will include small value purchases, quotations and tenders.

• Coordinate and provide IT support in the area of data backup, network/account management, virtual meetings via Skype/Zoom/MS Teams and basic technical support to AGO staff

• Coordinate and conduct annual review of user access, obsolete IT hardware and software which include secure disposal

• Manage access to IT systems, review user activities, collate returns and conduct polls

• Perform process improvements in the area of procurement e.g. automating processes using Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

• Any other duties as may be assigned by Chief Information Officer (CIO) which include: (i) coordination of key IT meetings; and (ii) attending to external vendors in the office

Job Requirements

• Diploma qualifications, preferably in the area of Information Systems and Technology.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in public sector IT.

• Knowledge of relevant Government ICT systems such as GeBIZ will be an added advantage.

• Meticulous, organised and resourceful

• Strong IT and digital skills, and proficiency in RPA will be an added advantage.

• Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills.
