Job Description

As the head of the Copy Department, the junior copywriter is in charge of the agency’s copy execution for campaigns, content and projects in line with clients’ brand guidelines.

A. Roles and Responsibilities

1. Roles and Responsibilities – Copywriting

  • Lead the team in projects and pitches
  • Brainstorm original ideas and content directions with the creatives and strategists to solve clients’ business problems
  • Understand the marketing objectives and craft the intended messages
  • Develop editorial contents to meet KPI of campaigns
  • Write engaging long-form and short-form copy for web and mobile, digital and social media advertisements, eDMs, direct mailers, interactive and shop displays, and creative assets for events and conferences
  • Ensure copy standards comply with clients’ brand guidelines and style guides
  • Edit and proofread copy for spelling, grammar and tone of voice
  • Work with Designers in ensuring creative assets are executed as planned
  • 2. Roles and Responsibilities 2 – Leadership
  • ¡ Act as the brand guardian for our clients and perform QC on the Copy Department's work to ensure each asset is proofread and error free
  • ¡ Lead the Copy Department and provide copy leadership to all writers
  • ¡ Plot learning path for senior and junior writers under his charge
  • ¡ Mentor and inspire the copywriters as well as the broader creative team
  • ¡ Identify areas the team can improve as it continues to grow and adopt new technologies to engage audiences, and guide the team to adapt to these changes

B. Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications or its equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word and PowerPoint

C. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • A passion to bring new ideas to life
  • Strong in conceptualisation and content direction
  • Competent in B2B and B2C content writing
  • Knowledge of SEM and SEO techniques for content optimisation
  • Well-versed in digital and social media, as well as analytics
  • Highly responsible and able to work under pressure
  • Meticulous with the quality of work delivered
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong visualisation skill with a keen eye for design and layout
